One shot made indoors in the studio in Amsterdam. You see a lamp used to fill-in the extra shadows of a model.
Most of the time it’s next to the camera. This is a close up of the beauty dish. (it creates light with hard shadows)

A silhouette against a white wall. The light comes from a night lamp behind and under my face.

Again a sunset, but one with some nice shadows shot in the garden.
It looks a bit like a French garden, drinking wine and having fun till late in the evening.

Allot to see, and not so much. These waves are sand on the beach, build by wind. I wonder how the wind makes the same kind of waves as the sea does. (or did the water first constructed these waves?)
Wind and water are two different elements in nature, but the result is the same. If you have the answer, don’t hesitate to contact me.

A nice old fashioned and “non digital” way of augmented reality. In some months we’ll start using our mobiles to see the world with an overlaid intelligence layer. This sun behind a cloud is shot with it’s background. A perfect example of the way augmented reality works in real life.
Find the nearest ATM machine, see what the weather will be or check the history of the city. It’s all possible, as long as you’re connected to the massive database. Check the examples!

These are blocks at the coast of Scheveningen near the harbor. The sunset creates a beautiful set of lines.

This is a picture of the sky, shot at the moment a large cloud positioned infront of the sun. Because of the sudden change in light, my iPhone got confused.
A nice effect though!

Some road construction near my house.
This crack in the asphalt has a similarity with the roots of a plant. Funny how nature is visible in an ordinary street scene.

Some days it’s just better to stay at home.
What you see it the result of a heavy rainstorm in front of my house.
Water covers 71% of our planet, sometimes awful and allot of it in Holland. In some parts of the US people may not sprinkle their garden, because of the drought and shortage of water in big cities. It seems not only 3rd world countries struggle with the problem of water becoming a luxury good. That’s certainly not the point at my place.
In Europe we have the opposite. If we don’t act we may drown in the future, especially the cities near the sea. This is because of the rising sea level and the change of climate and melting ice. Cities like Amsterdam, The Hague or Rotterdam have to act against the water in order to keep it dry.
In the documentary of Al Gore called “An inconvenient truth” you can see the devastating outcome of rising water on grounds below sea level. Scientists say the sea level rises 2mm each year, if you speed it up it looks like this. How inconvenient is that?!
